Tiny feral barn kitten leaves animal-loving farmer no choice when she wholesomely adopts him to be her new dad
Cats don't care if you're big or small, manly or feminine, or rich or poor, they just want you to serve their every whim and fancy for the rest of their lives. And by "serve them", we mean love them, but sometimes, it really feels like serving. Especially when they randomly decide they don't like their food they've been eating for years now, and you have to run out and get a whole new brand just so they will end their spontaneous hunger strike.

Chunky cat attempts to escape vet visit, gets stuck under chair, rescued by firefighters, goes viral online, turns into an instant meme, and ends up having to go to the vet anyway
The cat side of the internet is… unexpected. Cats are constantly going viral online, that is something that everyone knows. But no one knows what a cat will go viral for. One thing that we do know is that the things cats go viral for are rarely serious things. People look at cats for levity, for distraction. So… cats go viral for being unphotogenic and hilariously attacking plants. Cats go viral for being "the worst cats" at the shelter and instantly get hundreds of adoption applications. Cats go viral for fake-limping and spooking out their owners.

Neighbor gets caught stealing outdoor cat from owners who leave them to freeze outside, but they fight for the cat's living conditions, and win
The thought of stealing literally makes us sweat profusely. We've never even shoplifted anything because we know we would get caught for acting pawsitively suspicious. But, if we ever were faced with the option of letting a cat freeze and drink dirty water outside, or steal them from their "owners" and take them into our house, we wouldn't hesitate for a second.

Person adopts one kitten but has to leave his sick brother behind, their friend steps in to rescue the remaining kitten, and now that he’s recovering, the two are on track for future kitty playdates
Splitting up bonded pairs is something that we are always, always against. Bonded pairs need one another. They are each other's other halves. But what happens if splitting them up is necessary? What happens when you, as the one adopting, see no other choice? Maybe that choice exists, but it doesn't exist in that moment, you don't see it, you don't know what to do. When that happens, you call someone who you think might help. Although we don't think that the friend who made the phone call in this story knew what amazing thing the person the called would do.

4 week old kitten found on remote road after not eating for days by patrolman and handed to shelter until rescuer could return to adopt the kitty, patrolman says
What more do you need other than a cat in serious trouble running up to you in the middle of a road. Oh you need them to willingly get into your car, sure no problem. You need them to wait for you patiently in the car without turning it into a pile of shredded fabric for freaking out about being locked in a car, you got it. You need that cat to come crying to you after you left it in the shelter, no problem.

Deaf man goes viral for wearing his famously calm cat as a hat while going through TSA checks at Tampa airport
When Dr. Seuss wrote "The Cat in the Hat", we're not quite sure this is what he was imagining. However, this is far better. Jeremy Smith, AKA the "BeltLine Cat Guy", was born deaf. He adopted Whisker when she was maybe 3-months-old, from a homeless man who offered her to him for $100. After about two weeks of training, Whisker became comfortable sitting on Jeremy's shoulders, even riding on his bike with him. From there, Whisker adopted her adorable spot on top of his head.
